In response to social needs, apartment complexes in The City of Shenyang were heavily supplied in the 1980s and 1990s. These apartment complexes have been transformed into a commercial-residential mixed pattern in the midst of social change, and the road within the complex has been transformed into a public road, and the residential environment is changing. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the habitability by solving the problems arising from this. For this purpose, the purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of the plan at the time. So we analyzed 15 apartment complexes built in the 1980s and 1990s. The analysis found that some target complexes did not have enough elevators and parking lots and exceeded existing design indicators, such as building density and floor area ratios. There are 3 type Core-Organization that the individual stair are combined into two, three, and four-household units planned (S-2, S-3, S-4). Of these, the three household combinations (S-3) were the most common, most of which were supplied to small households. And there were three types; F (Flat)-Type, C (Courtyard)-Type and P (Platform)-Type of placement types. Apartment complexes with these characteristics have been transformed into a residential complex in the social change of reform and opening, and have faced a change in residential environment such as lack of parking lot and lack of external public space.
