With the recent shift to a millennial generation who values personal happiness and self-satisfaction and the Internet and Information Communication Technology (ICT), young households, single-person households, and newly-married couples are growing in the housing market. In particular, as policies for newly-married couples suffering from low-economic strength, difficulties in raising children, and high housing costs are expanding, it is expected that housing products for newly-married couples will be needed to reflect the characteristics of the millennial generation. This study aims to find out the need and relationship of the IoT smart-home system in the residential environment for newly-married couples of millennials. A questionnaire survey was conducted upon 115 newly married couples in their 20s and 30s, and investigate the millennial characteristics and needs for IoT smart-home system, and the data were analyzed by SPSS Statistics 22. Although there were few samples as the subjects, the result showed that the need for the IoT smart-home system for newlyweds is related to the millennial characteristics such as "happiness and self-improvement", "leisure" and "digital culture".
