Mobility model in MANET varies according to the application-specific goals. Therefore, Mobility Model should be proposed differently for services and applications. The most widely used Random WayPoint Mobility Model(RWPMM) is advantageous because it is simple and easy to implement, but the random characteristic of node movement is not enough to express the intrinsic mobility characteristics of sensor field’s moving environment. Therefore we point out the limitations of RWPMM and propose a Stochastic Mobility Model which can represent each individual nodes’ movement characteristic as well as the movement changing characteristic of the entire sensor field. In this paper, we propose the mobility model, quantify the change of nodes’ movement environment, select cluster heads and form clusters using FIS. We compared the performance with the RWPMM in terms of energy efficiency, and confirmed more stable characteristics for the node movement condition.
