This study aims to improve the user experience and value in online performances by discovering opportunities for digital transformation beyond simple digitization of cultural performances through research on user experience in online live concerts.
In order to find out whether users are satisfied with their motives for attending live concerts in online concerts, I selected BTS online concert ‘MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E’ as a research target and focused on users who watched online concerts. The satisfaction factor, dissatisfaction factor, and behavior and experience of the viewing process were investigated through in-depth interviews. I extracted user experience categories in online performances from data collected using qualitative research methods, and derived user needs and unmet needs through customer journey maps.
As a result of the study, users were generally satisfied with the experience and practicality among the motives for viewing live concerts, but the motives for interactivity and novelty were not satisfied at the online concert.
Therefore, in order to satisfy the motive of interactivity and novelty, it seems necessary to establish a digital transformation strategy centering on a plan to connect the audience and the musician, and the audience and the audience.
