This paper investigates how digital devices influence children’s social and emotional development, which in turn influence their brain development. Many social science studies have long recognized the necessity of human social interaction for the development of a holistic human being. Neuroscience studies have also revealed that human interaction with other human beings is essential for healthy brain development. The field of social neuroscience has conducted extensive research on how social stimuli, tasks, and situations affect human brain functions. In fact, several neuroscience studies have uncovered specific brain regions that are deeply related to human social interactions for their healthy development. However, due to the advancement of technology and the COVID-19 outbreak, people’s interaction, including children’s, with digital technology is exponentially increasing. As the use of digital devices and online education become more prevalent and inevitable, it is necessary for churches to prepare parents to become Christian education leaders for their families and children and to create interactive and engaging online communities for parents and children.
