The purpose of this study was to investigated the relationship for the application and the usefulness of canonical correlation analysis in cardiorespiratory function and regional body mineral density female Taekwondo player. The subjects participated in this experiment voluntary for this study were 19 healthy female Taekwondo player for about 8 years. The cardiorespiratory function were VO₂max(Maximal Oxygen Consumption), AT(Anaerobic Threshold), VEmax(Maximal Ventilation), RER(Respiratory Exchange Ratio) and HR(Rest Heart Rate). The cardiorespiratory function was measured by cardiopulmonary exercise testing system(Quark b², U.S.A). The regional body mineral density measured by DEXA (PRODIGY, U.S.A). For analysis, multiple and canonical correlation analysis were used by SAS(ver9.4). The AT and VO₂max of female Taekwondo player were significantly positive correlation with most body mineral density. The remaining variables(VEmax, RER and HR<SUB>rest</SUB>) were non significantly correlation with a almost all body mineral density. However HRrest of female Taekwondo player were negative correlation with all regional body mineral density. In the canonical correlation of between cardiorespiratory function(independent variable) and regional body mineral density(dependent variable) in female Taekwondo player were high canonical coefficient (r=.93). Also BMD of leg in regional body mineral density was most important factor to cardiorespiratory function in female Taekwondo player. The results suggest that high AT and VO₂max may have positive effect for regional body mineral density. So, we suggest that a regular aerobic exercise might prevent of osteoporosis through increase of AT and VO2max.
