This survey was conducted to estimate the costs-added that enterprises incurred when employing workers with disabilities. Focusing on this purpose, we surveyed the extra costs that employers paid to employ workers with disabilities in 2019. The cost caused by productivity loss when employing workers with disabilities was estimated by using the Cobb-Duglas production function. The costs-added paid by enterprises were estimated in the following four categories: facility cost, equipment cost and employment management cost, and productivity loss cost.
We showed that the monthly costs-added paid by enterprises (which was the sum of costs-added and productivity loss cost) were 943 thousands KRW, costs-added were 368 thousand KRW and the costs due to productivity loss were 575 thousands KRW.
