This paper identifies native English professors’ perceptions of running two general English online: compulsory reading/speaking and writing in the COVID-19 situation, examines the interrelation between variables and proposes a preferred class type. Thirteen native English professors who taught two courses for the last two semesters were subjects and the survey was conducted from February 15 to 26, 2021. Statistical analysis of the interaction between variables was verified via R. Teaching experience and curriculum content was not statistically significant, but different online class types and the satisfaction degree were statistically significant, indicating an interaction between these factors. It was confirmed that the independent face-to-face class type was highly preferred, while the hybrid class types (face-to-face + asynchronous and + synchronous) were the next for both courses. It was also confirmed that the former was attributed to the communication ‘with’ and ‘between’ students, whereas the latter was attributed to convenience of online class.
