The nonlinear ultrasonic technique can evaluate degradation of a material because it is sensitive to microstructural changes such as precipitate and dislocation. Especially, the relative acoustic nonlinearity parameter is simple measurement and easy to employ in industrial field because it is defined by mV level received electric signal in contrast with the absolute acoustic nonlinearity parameter defined by pm level displacement amplitude.
