Social and cultural changes can be attributed to the active self-expression of women through changes in the values of marriage and the increase in women’s participation rate in society. However, research cases on various housing directions were insufficient due to the increase in the number of female single-person households. Therefore, the significance of the study lies in identifying the importance while proposing resident’s sense of meaning and new types of residential spaces as a means of self-expression through residential analysis that reflects women’s lifestyles and tastes. (Research method) Firstly, the study analyzes the necessity of single-person households along with its status quo and examines the status of housing reflecting its lifestyle and meaning, through literature review analysis and statistical data. Secondly, the direction of female single-person households reflecting the lifestyle and individual tastes is presented and derived through an in-depth interview from a selected case with an owner through before and after photos and spatial analysis. (Conclusion) The constant research about female single-person households is needed not only for simple home styling but also for individual expression and proactive self-realization through the lifestyle reflected in artist A’s case study.
