2020년 1월 20일 우리나라에서 신종코로나바이러스 감염증(Coronavirus Disease-19, 이하COVID-19)의 첫 환자가 발생한 후 질병관리본부의 위기경보 수준은 '관심'에서 '주의' 단계로 상향되었다. 그리고, 약 한달 후, 대구지역에서는 신천지교회에서 첫 확진이 발생되면서 급격한 대유행이 시작되었고 계명대학교 동산병원에서는 2월 20일 SARS-CoV-2에대한분자진단검사를실시하였다. 일평균 300건이상의진단검사는약 2개월 이후부터 점차 감소하기 시작하였고 신환자의 발생도 급격히 줄어들었다. 이에 지난 4개월 동안의 계명대학교 동산병원 진단검사의학과에서의 경험을 공유하고자 한다.
