초미세먼지(PM<SUB>2.5</SUB>)는 주로 대기 중 2차 생성으로 발생하여 오염원을 예측하기 까다롭고, 제거 기작이 뚜렷하지 않아 대기 중에 수일간 머물면서 수천 ㎞ 이상의 장거리로 수송되기도 한다. 이러한 특성을 갖는 PM<SUB>2.5</SUB>의 효율적인 규제를 위해서는 PM<SUB>2.5</SUB>의 국내에서의 이동과 지역 배출에 의한 영향 등 다각적인 관점에서의 접근이 필요하다.
