Purpose: The purpose of the study is to figure out the impact of sexual discrimination in online game and interpersonal competence on internalized shame in female college students. Methods: The subjects of the study were 210 female college students who play the online games in universities nationwide. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, Hierarchical multiple regression analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics version 22.0. Results: Interpersonal competence has the negative effect on internalized shame. On the other hand, the sexual discrimination in an online game has the positive effect on the internalized shame. The results showed that interpersonal competence (β=-.50, p<.001) affects internalized shame most, followed by sexual discrimination (β=.25, p<.001). These variables account for 37.8% of the final model of internalized shame. Conclusion: The results show that sexual discrimination in the online game, interpersonal competence were the influence on internalized shame. Based on these results, intervention programs that can enhance the influence factors of female college students’ internalized shame should be developed and their effectiveness should be investigated.
