This paper examined how the native name of Iksan village in Jeonbuk borrowed Chinese characters and was renamed. In the process of examin- ing this, I examined the form and phonological changes of native names, and examined the lexical meaning of native names, and described the meaningful characteristics of Jeonbuk dialect. As a result, when the name of the Korean language was changed into Chinese characters, most of the meanings were reflected and changed, and it was rare to borrow and change the same sound. Sometimes, the mean- ing and sound were reflected together. Also, as time passed, I did not know the meaning of Korean old words, so it was characterized by mis- translation into Chinese characters. This paper also confirmed some charac- teristics of Jeonbuk dialects, and phonologically, it was possible to see changes such as 'ㅸ>w>Ø’ in the 15th century. The trace of ‘ㅿ’ and ‘ㄱ palatalization’ phenomenon are the characteristics of the Southeast dialect, which was also seen in Jeonbuk. In terms of morphology, it was also seen that the adnominal mark ‘ㅣ’ appearing in medieval korean was shown. In terms of vocabulary, I could also see dialects widely used in Jeonbuk, such as ‘Pussaemi’, 'Kogiddol’, ‘Hakdol’, 'Sokuri’ and ‘Gorasil’, ‘Suchegol’ etc.
