An important task of homiletics is to explain the double communication of interpretation and delivery in preaching in terms of hermeneutics. This article seeks to suggest an homiletical hermeneutics to combine theological hermeneutics of the biblical interpretation and communicative hermeneutics of the sermon delivery. Sermon preparation and delivery process consist of the following five crucial elements of the biblical text, preacher, congregation, illuminative work of the Holy Spirit, and the communicative context. A homiletical possibility of the human preacher to deliver the Word of God could be acquired by the illumination of the Spirit and emergence of the textual intention as John Calvin and complex system theory explain. Theological hermeneutics about the biblical interpretation deals with the fourfold overlapping encounter passing through the biblical author, the biblical text, preacher, and the contemporary audience in order to accomplish the contextualization of preaching. This comprehensive contextualization process of preaching could be divided by the textual contextualization written by the biblical authors, decontextualization during the biblical interpretation, and recontextualization to deliver the homiletical main idea to the contemporary audience. Finally, concerning communicative hermeneutics of preaching, this paper seeks to apply the hermeneutical logic of ‘faith seeking understanding’ as Anselmus has suggested to the homiletical perspective of sermon delivery. The researcher suggests the hermeneutical community, the Biblical narrative about the identity of Jesus Christ, and the sermon form to follow the redemptive history narrative. Within these perspectives, the contemporary preacher could acquire the more comprehensive homiletical hermeneutics about the biblical interpretation and sermon delivery.
