The inter-industrial inducement effects of the Korean shipping services on the production, value-added, and imports of 384 industrial sectors of the Korean economy have been estimated by the inter-industry analysis with the ‘2013 Input-Output Statistics’, which was published recently in December 15, 2015 by the Bank of Korea. The Korean shipping service industry produced ₩27,319 billion worth of overseas shipping and coastal and inland shipping services together in the year 2013, and it induced ₩17,289 billion worth of output, ₩182 billion worth of value-added, and ₩13,369 billion worth of imports as a whole. The impacts of the Hanjin Shipping Co. crisis on the production, value-added, imports inducement have been computed under the scenario that the crisis would reduce the production of Korean overseas shipping industry by 10% on account of the crisis. It is expected that the crisis would reduce ₩1,694.8 billion worth of output, ₩2.2 billion worth of value-added, and ₩1,327 billion worth of imports as a whole.
