In this paper, I looked into the Chinese traveling culture of a Korean in 18th Century with Hong, Dae-yong'≪Eul-Byeong-YeonHaengRok≫. Hong, Dae-yong in the capacity of military officer who was free to travel, went around several places might be historic sites. And he had encountered an advanced civilization and a western science that entered the Qing dynasty, communicated in writing with Chinese. They discussed about study, society, and a view of the world, and he enlarged his new knowledge and experience. After he could draw people who were interested in foreign travel and women readers in a gynaeceum into indirect experience as if they were to travel themselves. Therefore, the Chinese traveling culture of a Korean in 18th Century is not a simple trip as leisure, but a travel for acquisition of knowledge and experience extension. This study which approached microscopically and convergence study of history and culture is done, this study has broaden the scope of literary studies significance.
