In this study, WC-Co hard materials were consolidated using spark plasma sintering at the temperature 1,300℃ with transition metal carbides (VC and Cr₃C₂) addition. Each SPSed WC-3 wt.% Co-2.5 wt.% VC, WC-3 wt.% Co-2.5 wt.% Cr₃C₂, and WC-3 wt.% Co-VC-Cr₃C₂ hard materials were almost completely dense with a relative density up to 97.8% after the simultaneous application of a pressure of 60 MPa without any significant change in the grain size.
