Purpose: The purpose is to examine physical activity and health-related quality of life for adults with household income at the national level, establish strategies to promote optimized healthy lifestyles and physical activities based on economic income, and identify influencing factors.
Methods: To this end, adults aged 19 or older who participated in the first and second years of the 7th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016 and 2017) were selected as a research group. The study was conducted on the final 7,452 subjects who responded to physical activity and health-related quality of life questions among a total of 16,277 subjects.
Results: As a result of this study, first, as a result of examining the general characteristics affecting the degree of physical activity and health-related quality of life, there were common significant differences in gender, age, marital status, education, occupation, economic activity, and subjective health perception. Second, as a result of checking the amount of physical activity and health-related quality of life index (EQ-5D) according to household income, it was confirmed that both factors gradually increased with an increase in income. Third, as a result of hierarchical multiple-linear regression analysis, it was found that household income and physical activity had a significant effect on health-related quality of life, and as a result of correcting the factors, it showed higher explanatory power.
Conclusion: Taken together, the quantitative difference in various factors is that detailed programs for each class are needed to design policies related to physical activity and health-related quality of life.
