This study examines the effects of household income and labor experiences on unmarried and married women"s happiness during COVID-19. Analyses were conducted on 5,931 women aged 19 to 59 using the 2020-2021 survey data of the Korean Women"s Development Institute. The findings were as follows: First, the reduction of household income affected subjective happiness only in the married group. In the married group, when the household income decreased during COVID-19, the feeling of happiness decreased. In the unmarried group, economic stress, not household income, affected subjective happiness. Second, variables of labor experience had a significant effect on happiness only in the unmarried group. In cases of stopping working or "not employed" during COVID-19, subjective happiness decreased. The reduction in working hours and income did not affect happiness. In conclusion, the effects of economic factors on women"s happiness were different in the unmarried and married groups, suggesting that a policy approach tailored to the two groups was needed.
