Purpose: When adults with speech impairment use Kakao mini, we would like to examine the correlation between the degree of speech recognition that Kakaomini recognizes and the intelligibility perceived by the human ear. Methods: Ten dysarthric speakers were asked to read four sentences, and the voices were recorded and played to Kakao mini and 30 listeners. The accuracy of Kakao mini"s speech recognition was compared with the listener"s syllable intelligibility. Results: First, Kakao mini has a speech recognition ability similar to that of ordinary listeners for normal speaker"s speech, but the speech recognition ability of dysarthric speakers is significantly lower than that of ordinary speakers. Second, The speech recognition ability of Kakao mini"s dysarthric speech disorder was lower than that of the listener. Looking at the differences between sentences with different syllable lengths, Kakao mini was not affected by the length of the syllables, but in listeners, as the length of the syllables increased, the intelligibility decreased. There was a significant correlation between the accuracy per syllable of Kakao mini and the intelligibility per syllable of the listener. Conclusions: The results can be interpreted that the Kakao mini recognizes the voice of a dysarthric speaker who has difficulty in speech, but it is still less capable of recognizing than the human ear, but it can recognize speech quite closely and shows a pattern similar to what a person hears. If Kakao mini can recognize the speech sounds of people with speech impairments, it will not only help improve the quality of life of people with speech impairments, but also contribute to improving the accuracy of speech recognition of ordinary people.
