One of the characteristics of the Korean language is the various and complex system of numeral unit bound nouns. Most Korean numeral unit bound nouns are formed of Korean native character or formed of Chinese character, however, the number of bound nouns composed with loanwords have increased sharply after modernization of Korea. Since many bound nouns composed with loanword tend to express a whole different unit that had not been included in the Korean language system, they were borrowed and settled rapidly in Korean. Numeral unit bound nouns of loanwords do not combine with foreign language words or Korean native words, but with numeral nouns of Chinese character like "sip(十) seynthimithe(centimeter)". It demonstrates that number of bound nouns composed with loanword have been established in Korean language system. This study uses quantitative method to analyze and compare "khillo(kilo)" and "milli(milli)”, "pheseynthu(percent)" and "phulo(pro)". They are numeral unit bound nouns composed with loanword, which are widely used in synchronic modern Korean language. "Khillo(kilo)" and "milli(milli)" are each used as a unit for length and weight, and they each have the meaning of 1,000 and 1/1000. However, "milli(milli)" is almost never used as a unit for weight in Korean. "pheseynthu(percent)" and "phulo(pro)" can be treated as a synonym in dictionary, but they can be verified through the collocation analysis that two different words with different usages. Based on such results, the study will further discuss extensively about the aspects and characteristics of a numeral unit bound nouns composed with loanword.
