This study tried to explore the trends in educational innovation by analyzing the representative innovation programs of universities supporting the university innovation support project capacity-building. To this end, a matrix analysis of representative innovation programs in the first and second year business plans of the universities to be applied was analyzed. A cross-comparison analysis was conducted between the construction of a common core phrase educational system, student growth, competency-oriented dimensions derived from the project goals of all supported universities, and the 1st and 2nd year dimensions. As a result, it was found that the educational innovation of universities supporting the university innovation support project’s competency-enhancing type by exploring the contents of representative innovation programs tends to build a competency-oriented education system that reflects the characteristics of the university for the individual growth of each student. This study is expected to be used as basic data for finding ways to establish mid- to long-term development plans of universities. As there was a limitation in that there was no related prior research, a comparative discussion could not be made, so the direction of the study for future related research was suggested.
