Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to derive policies through SWOT analysis on the direction of the new normal cyber security industry. Methods: From June 01 to June 30, 2021, a qualitative study was conducted by applying the in-depth interview technique to experts in the cyber security industry. Twelve subjects participated in the study. Result: First, as for the strength factors for the cyber security industry, factors such as the rapid change to the virtual environment, the increase in cyber-crime, and the formation of an online-oriented market were derived. Second, as for the weak factors for the cyber security industry, factors such as a decrease in trust in the cyber security industry, the small size of the cyber security industry, information loss and bankruptcy, and a fast information society, and confusion were derived. Third, as for the opportunity factors for the cyber security industry, factors such as value formation on the importance of cyber security, growth of online platform-based industry, and establishment of new normal cyber security technology were derived. Fourth, as for the threat factors to the cyber security industry, factors such as the technological evolution of cyber hacking, the lack of cyber hacking protection measures, the reinforcement of the ethical awareness of cyber workers, and the reality and uselessness of the cyber security industry were derived. Conclusion: The cyber security industry in the era of the 4th industrial revolution should be nurtured through policy as a nationally important field.
