This paper aims to conceptualize the processes and methods of posthuman qualita tive research being informed by posthumanism philosophies and theories. Specifically, this study, based on the ontological, epistemological and methodological perspectives of posthumanism, explores how to conduct qualitative research with human and non human entities such as machines, animals, and materials, overcoming the limitations of anthropocentric qualitative research. For the purpose, this study provides concep tualization on the five most general but essential stages of research (research purpose, research objects, data collection methods, types of data, and writing) of the research process. The discussion of the conceptualization focuses on how the stages of posthu man qualitative research differ from human-centered qualitative research in terms of methodological approaches and techniques. The influence of machines and materials on human life has been ever growing and it will continue to do so, changing many as pects of human cultures. Given the changes and dynamics being made, studying how to conduct posthuman qualitative research would contribute not only to newly understand the lives and cultures of human beings who live in an era where the boundary between human and nonhuman materials is getting blurred but also to create new knowledge on the way of changing lives and phenomenon that human and nonhuman co-create.
