The writers of late Tongcheng School affected education in modernizing many of late Qing Dynasty. For Chinese modern education, there are differences for the writers of late Tongcheng School in the individual cognition,but as a whole they are in line with the trend of the times. 曾國藩 is the late Qing Dynasty education reforms, a leading role, and a big influence in the modernization of education. But a leading role in modernizing education is his disciple 吳汝綸. He insists ‘Imperial examination system abolish’,through educational system reform promote the modernization of the 書院. He is also embraces the old and new, convergence academic of China and Western, by extending the vision, establishing a foundation of modern ideas of education and practice. In addition to, 張裕釗⋅黎庶昌⋅薛福成 insisted on ‘Imperial examination system abolish’⋅‘set up an educational program for training its human resources’, ‘set up practical education courses’, promote traditional education into the modern education. Although they did not understand the essence of the Qing Dynasty, exaggerated the role of education, they are positive in the educational practice in development of Chinese modern education.
