The purpose of this experiment is to analyze how acetyl hexapeptides well-known for their wrinkle declining and safety effects as bioactive peptides combined with alpha hydroxy acids to improve fine wrinkles with their exfoliation and skin moisturization effects influence facial skin conditions and figure out optimal mixture to manufacture cosmetics for wrinkle declining. As a study method, this author selected 48 persons statistically having the same skin type out of 60 agreeing to participate in the experiment and conforming to the criteria of being a subject and divided them randomly into groups A, B, C, and D. The groups’ cream contains 20% acetyl hexapeptides and 0%, 3%, 5%, and 7% alpha hydroxy acids each. Each of the groups was asked to apply the cream as 3 g at the last step of applying basic products both in the morning and evening for four weeks. After the application, wrinkles on their T and U zones, pore size, moisture index, and dead cells were measured with Aphrodite-III three times a week, and then, the mean values were processed statistically with SPSS 10. According to the results, the increased concentration of acetyl hexapeptides and alpha hydroxy acids is significantly effective in declining wrinkles, reducing pore size, increasing moisture, and reducing dead cells. However, moisture increase is not significantly influenced by the concentration change of alpha hydroxy acids. In conclusion, the mixture of 20% acetyl hexapeptides and 0~7% alpha hydroxy acids seems to be effective in improving skin conditions.
