This study compares several editions of Chunxiangzhuan with Chaoju Chunxiangzhuan, by focusing on the chair, which is a directing prop. The purpose of this comparative study is to find out how the existence of props affects the shape of the protagonist. Yueju Chunxiangzhuan gained the effect of raising Li Menglong's social status by arranging chair props, and Chaoju Chunxiangzhuan changed Li Menglong's character friendly by removing chair props. As the chairs disappeared from the stage, the actors' eye level became equal, and the barriers of the status class were demolished between the characters. Comparing various editions of Chunxiangzhuan, we can find numerous variations and evolution between the works. Just as life evolves, Chunxiangzhuan has also evolved constantly according to the times and regions. All of the various editions have their own perfect narrative. The reason why all editions have their own meaning and value is that the characters of Chunxiang and Li Menglong reflect various aspects of our lives.
