This study attempted to derive implications for domestic public rental housing by comparing and analyzing public rental housing policies and operation management systems in the UK and the Netherlands. Public rental housing in the UK and the Netherlands were supplied by the central government, but the role of local governments and non-profit housing associations is gradually strengthening. In Korea, most of the ownership, tenant selection, and operation management of public rental housing are responsible to business entities such as LH. On the other hand, the central government provides assistance or allocation guidelines, and local governments are responsible for selecting tenants, adjusting rents, and managing operations. As in foreign cases, domestic public rental housing should supplement income class, household type, housing requirements, and waiting period by region. To do so, it is necessary to transfer the rights so that local governments can operate and manage responsibly so that they can be applied flexibly according to regional characteristics.
