In this paper, various aspects of Chuanqi (傳奇) were considered. Chapter 1 pointed out the prejudice that negatively describes Taoist intellectuals from the perspective of Confucian intellectuals. Chapter 2 examines the impact of the introduction of Buddhism on Chinese society in terms of exclusion, acceptance, and reinvention. Chapter 3 examines the movement of East Asia toward humanity by reviewing the "杜⼦春故事群". It was found that the qingli (情理) between parents and children in an East Asian context was a natural emotion that should never be misunderstood as obsession. Chapter 4 emphasized altruism as a criticism of Buddhism, and paid attention to the emphasis on spiritual cultivation in terms of accepting the advantages of Buddhism. In Chapter 5, it was noted that emphasizing altruism does not fall into Confucian etiquette, but instead insists on the wuwei-ziran (無爲⾃然) and xingming-shuangxiu (性命雙修).
