The perspective, concepts, and practices of education have all changed significantly following the pandemic. This paper diagnoses the situation as a serious challenge that requires not just quantitative prescriptions but a comprehensive adjustment and restructuring of the literary education ecosystem. In response to this problem, the changes in the media environment, learners, and literary classrooms were examined. As a result, there is a need to change our questions from “how to use media” to “how to live with media,” and to consider new educational systems that suit the learning styles of Phono sapiens while also recognizing the need to change modern literature education from being reading-focused. Furthermore, it was argued that in order to emphasize the “well-being” of individuals and communities and the “agency” of students as the topic of future education, it is necessary to adjust and reconstruct the ecosystem of literary education, starting with the concepts. Although it may conflict with other orientations and philosophies, ultimately, proposals, discussions, experiments, and solidarity related to these concepts must be developed in research and practice if the concepts of “well-being” or “agency” are to occupy a significant place(niche) in the ecosystem of literary education. In addition to expanding our perspective on literature from “reading/writing” to “doing,” there is a need for innovation in educational methods that places the learner's literary assets at the center, respects and understands their participation and execution. As designers of the learning journey, literature teachers should support learners in experiencing positive learning and remembering the experiences of discovery and achievement, enabling them to explore the world of literature in-depth and extensively using their digital devices and other assets.

팬데믹 이후 교육에 대한 생각과 실천 양상 등 모든 것이 달라졌다. 양적 처방을 더하는 수준에서 대응할 수 있는 상황이 아니라 문학교육 생태계 전반을 조정하고 재구성해야 할 정도로 심각한 도전의 상황이다. 이러한 문제의식에 따라 먼저 매체 환경과 학습자 및 문학 교실이 어떻게 달라졌는지 살펴보았다. 그 결과 ‘미디어를 어떻게 활용할 것인가’를 넘어 ‘미디어와 더불어 어떻게 살아가야 할 것인가’로 우리의 질문을 바꿀 필요가 있으며, 포노 사피엔스들의 학습 방식에 맞는 새로운 교육 제도에 대해 고민하는 한편, 읽기 중심의 근대식 문학교육 역시 달라져야 함을 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 학습자 개인의 ‘성장’이나 ‘발전’이 아니라 개인은 물론이고 공동체의 ‘웰빙’이, 학생의 ‘행위주체성(주도성)’이 미래 교육의 화두로 강조되고 있는 상황에 주목하였다. 그리고 문학교육 개념 생태계, 나아가 문학교육 생태계 역시 이 두 개념을 중심으로 조정되고 재구성할 필요가 있음을 주장하였다. 연구자는 다른 지향과 철학을 담고 있는 기왕의 개념들과 갈등하겠지만, 결국에는 ‘웰빙’이나 ‘행위주체성’이 문학교육 개념 생태계에서 적소를 차지할 것이라고 낙관한다. 다만, 이를 위해서는 연구 및 실천의 장에서도 여러 관련 제안과 논의, 실험 및 연대가 있어야 한다. ‘읽다/쓰다’를 넘어 ‘하다’로 문학에 대한 관점을 확장하고, 학습자의 문학 자산을 존중하고 파악하는 한편, 학습자의 참여와 실행을 중심으로 교육 방법 역시 혁신할 필요가 있다. 학습 여정의 설계자인 문학교사가 학습자들이 긍정적 문학(학습) 경험을 할 수 있도록 지원한다면, 언젠가는 학습자들 스스로 그 발견 및 성취의 경험을 기억하며 자신이 보유한 디지털 기기 등을 활용하여 스스로 문학의 세계를 깊이 그리고 두루 탐험할 수 있게 될 것이다. 이를 위해서는 학습이란 결국 자기 학습이라는 사실을 기억하며, 공급자 중심으로 설계되어 있는 오늘날의 문학교육 구도와 내용 전반을 해체하고 비판적으로 조정 및 재구성해야 한다.
