Due to the prolonged spread of COVID-19, anxiety and depression among adults continue to increase, and among them, the college student group is experiencing the most mental health difficulties. This study analyzed the effectiveness of a group counseling program to overcome anxiety and depression for college students suffering from anxiety and depression. The subjects of the study were 13 university students who voluntarily participated in a group counseling program for overcoming anxiety and depression among college students operated by the Career and Psychological Counseling Center of S University in Seoul. The program was held six times a week for 50 minutes non-face-to-face, and as a result of the study, anxiety and depressive symptoms were improved among college students who participated in the program. Based on these results, we hope to provide an educational alternative for college students who are struggling mentally due to COVID-19, such as anxiety and depression. First, various psychological and emotional programs should be developed and operated at the university level for college students suffering from mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression due to COVID-19. Second, in accordance with the prolonged situation of COVID-19, each university's student counseling center or career and psychological counseling center should actively develop and operate face-to-face and non-face-to-face individual and group counseling programs for the mental health of college students. Third, in addition to anxiety and depression due to COVID-19, various mental and psychological aspects of college students, such as corona stress, difficulty in emotional control, decrease in life satisfaction, and decrease in career-related confidence and efficacy, were investigated in the long term across all fields of family, school, and society. We need to work together to help in many ways.
