The purpose of this study is to develop a test tool that can accurately identify and diagnose the conceptual structure of factors related to the body image of college students participating in sports. After conducting a preliminary investigation through an expert meeting, based on this, item analysis, reliability analysis, and exploratory factor analysis were conducted to finalize 29 questions with 5 factors. Afterwards, validity was verified, final questions were developed, and after analysis, the following conclusions were drawn. The body image experienced and influenced by college students participating in sports was classified into 29 questions divided into five factors: internalized shame, performance anxiety, body image, self-esteem, and negative evaluation beliefs.
First, the factor of internalized shame consisted of 8 questions, which comprised the most content. Internalized shame consisted of feelings of emptiness and self-punishment.
Second, the performance anxiety factor consisted of 8 questions. This is a content that can be used to evaluate anxiety in practical presentations and performance situations. Third, the body image factor consists of 5 questions and is general information about the body image I perceive and is external to the body. Fourth, self-esteem was composed of five questions. This is the content that can be used to evaluate trait self-esteem. Fifth, negative evaluation beliefs were composed of three questions. It consisted of self-assessment and content about self-punishment.
