The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of relationship between leader attributes in the field of recreational sports and leader loyalty, as well as the intention to continue participating in recreational sports. It underscores the importance of leaders in the recreational sports field and their contribution to increasing civic participation in recreational sports.
For this purpose, the study analyzed 220 participants residing in the city of 00 in Gyeonggi Province who were actively engaged in recreational sports. Hypothesis testing was conducted through regression analysis, and the results are the follows. Firstly, it was found that the expertise and likability of recreational sports leaders have a positive impact on leader loyalty. However, trustworthiness does not appear to influence leader loyalty. Secondly, it was observed that the likability of recreational sports leaders has a positive impact on the intention to continue participating. However, expertise and trustworthiness do not appear to have an influence on this intention. Thirdly, it was found that leader loyalty has a positive impact on the intention to continue participating. There for the significance of recreational sports leader attributes in fostering the continued participation of recreational sports participants, highlighting the need for strategies to enhance loyalty towards leaders.
