Modern manufacturing companies are interested in finding ways to fuse products and services to create new business models and to enhance corporate competitive power in conjunction with the paradigm shifts of service-oriented design. The purpose of this paper is to interrogate the educational methods in the field of industrial design to improve integrated problem solving abilities and to cope with rapidly changing industrial environments. The study`s methodology is in two-fold : first, we prepared a basic education plan using product and service convergence design methodology in order to develop appropriate ideas and creative design expressions according to process steps that balance divergence and convergence ; second, through the education plan, this paper conducted a design project based on design methodology. This study concludes that students were able to understand the product and service design suitable for the change of the times, and conducted the student-driven inquiries to inform design process. In the future, we expect that further development of design education models of can be applicable to not only the product and service design to field of enterprise as a whole.
