The purpose of this study was to verify whether the longitudinal causal relationship between self-esteem and health perception of disabled people explains their perception of physical ability and level of physical activity participation. Data and samples used were data from the 5th, 7th, and 8th years of the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled by the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities Employment Development Institute, and the responses of 2,050 people with physical disabilities were analyzed. The analysis method was an autoregressive cross-lagged model, and Amos 23 was used as the analysis program. As a result of the study, first, self-esteem was stable over time, but health perception had a greater effect depending on the change in time. Second, self-esteem and health perception were found to have a positive influence on each other, and the cross-lagged effect was the same over time. Third, self-esteem and health perception statically explained the perception of physical ability at a later point in time, and the effect of influence at this time was the same. In addition, self-esteem and health perception statically explained the level of physical activity participation at a later point in time, and the path effect was also the same. Fourth, perception of physical ability statically explained the level of physical activity participation at the same time.
