The purpose of this paper is to summarize the current status and changes in the curriculumof trade departments in universities across the country, and to proposeways to improve the curriculumof trade departments by analyzing the changes in the trade environment and the trade education programs of trade-related institutions.
To this end, Chapter 2 summarizes the current status of trade departments in universities nationwide, and Chapter 3 summarizes the curriculum of 70 trade departments nationwide. Chapter 4 analyzes changes in the trade environment such as the entry of overseas e-commerce platformcompanies into Korea and digital transformation, aswell as trade education programs of trade-related institutions, and suggests howto improve the curriculumof trade departments.
In order for theDepartment of Trade to be competitive, the curriculumshould be reorganized to focus on job duties and trade certifications, and industryacademic cooperationwith trade companies should be strengthened to provide education that meets the needs of the industry.
In addition, courses suitable for the digital trade era should be developed, and education on big data and overseas e-commerce platforms should be strengthened.
Courses on new areas such as service trade or intellectual property trade should be developed, and student satisfaction and practical adaptability should be improved by developing courses that apply new teaching methods.
