(Background and Purpose) Residential spaces in the post-COVID-19 era are undergoing many changes before and after COVID-19, and many design topics are being attempted in response to changing issues as living places for various people, especially in the case of public housing living together among residential spaces. As such, it can be said that analyzing the design topics of public housing before and after COVID-19 is very important in responding to architectural issues in housing and life in the changing future era. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to discuss the changes in major architectural issues in the design of public housing in the post-COVID-19 era and derive their implications. (Method) This study analyzed the design topics of the winners of the Korea Public Housing Design Contest using text mining and used Textom, Ucinet6.0, and Netdraw programs. The contents of the design topics of the winners were refined using the Textom program through the website hosting the Korea Public Housing Design Contest, and the analysis was conducted through an Espresso K analyzer that reflects proper and complex nouns in the result values. (Results) To summarize the main findings of the study, first, it can be confirmed that public housing design is still planned as a complex design before and after COVID-19 and that topics related to spatial design and community are continuously addressed. Second, it can be confirmed that keywords related to the village-centered community through communication and sharing are presented as major solutions to the design topic of public housing before and after COVID-19. Third, it presents changes in residential life through the connection with nature and urban perspective in the design solution of public housing after the COVID-19 pandemic, and it can be confirmed that interest in daily life in residential spaces is emerging as a design topic. Fourth, through the change in clusters before and after COVID-19, the residents' residential life and area change in public housing design is dominated, and it can be seen that the main theme of public housing design was diversity, sharing, and communication before COVID-19, and the macroscopic view of the design area of urban and nature after COVID-19 is drawing attention as a design topic. (Conclusions) Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the topic of public life as a design topic for public housing has continued to be dealt with, but it is focusing more on plans related to individual daily life than public life, and it is changing to a plan to connect to the city and nature from the perspective of requiring a more pleasant environment.
