The purpose of this study is to examine the formation and development of apartment complexes in Korea, with a particular focus on the evolution of apartment complexes in the Incheon area. Specifically, this research aims to analyze the introduction and changes in site planning of apartment complexes developed by the Incheon Urban Development Corporation to identify the unique characteristics of the “Incheon-style” apartment complex planning. The findings are as follows: First, the formation and development of Incheon-style apartment complexes. Second, a user-centered site planning approach. The Incheon-style apartment complexes are designed with an integrative consideration of various elements, such as layout configuration, circulation planning, and the composition of outdoor spaces and community facilities.
