The purpose of this paper is to establish directions and improvements for improving public spaces so that university campuses open to the community can contribute to improving the quality of life of local residents as well as university members. To this end, we paid attention to the main entrance area, which is the main entry space where the flow of the most people occurs, and among the various observation tools introduced by Jan Gel, we investigated and analyzed the data of people using the external space using the techniques of mapping, tracing, diary survey, and photography, and based on this, a part of the first transportation island was deleted to connect the flow of walking. An improvement was drawn that the type of planting should be changed and the space to stay should be provided. In addition, strategies, programs, and plans for using public space should be proposed in addition to the improvement measures presented above, and for this, additional investigations and analysis of external space should be preceded in the future.
