Report Errors
The purpose of this study is to understand the emotional feeling and identity of the house where young college student households live. It is intended to suggest the direction of a residential space that can lead to a healthier society through the house where single young man living independently live. A survey of 160 college student households was conducted (2nd to 7th of October in 2024), and the final data of 152 people were statistically analyzed. As a result, it was found that young people felt satisfied that they improved not only their physical health but also their mental health by actively expressing their ego or individuality in residential spaces. In addition, diffusers/perfumes, furniture, fabrics/bedrooms, watching movies, listening to music, and cooking activities were found to reflect the preferences of young people to form an identity.
However, the identity of interacting with neighbors or inviting them to my house was relatively low. Therefore, it is also necessary to ensure that single-person households can stay alone and do hobbies and relax, and set the design direction of one-room housing so that they can share with neighbors while doing cooking activities that take into account the kitchen and a dining table in their house or shared space.
