This study investigates the perceptions of Korean EFL university students regarding English stress, a key element in effective communication. The research involved 31 students from various majors and grade levels who completed a Google online survey at both the beginning and end of the semester. To assess changes in their perceptions of English stress, a paired-sample t-test was conducted to measure the extent of improvement. It highlights the positive impact of explicit instruction and practice on students' cognitive awareness and affective engagement with English stress patterns. Through repeated practice and feedback, particularly via recording assignments and digital tools like NaturalReader, students who initially struggled with pronunciation and stress placement showed significant improvement in fluency, confidence, and motivation. The integration of stress education into daily lessons shifted students' focus from exam-oriented learning to real-life communication, fostering a deeper understanding of English stress and its practical application. The findings suggest that incorporating explicit stress education into EFL curricula, supported by interactive and technology-enhanced activities, can enhance students' pronunciation skills and overall communicative competence. This approach prepares learners to navigate English-speaking environments with greater confidence and effectiveness.
