This study analyzed the residential satisfaction of residents living in urban regeneration project area and their willingness to participate in urban regeneration projects, as well as the role of social networks as a mediating variable between these two variables. Previous research has shown that residential satisfaction and social networks have a positive effect on residents' willingness to participate in urban regeneration projects and village community activities. Based on survey data from the 2019 study "Conflict Management and Community Policy for Successful Urban Regeneration” conducted by the Korea Institute of Public Administration, hypotheses were tested using a structural equation model. As a result of the main analysis, all 8 items set as residential satisfaction measurement variables (sense of community belonging, attachment level, neighborly relations, desire for continuous residency, appropriateness of housing costs, proximity to work, convenience of transportation, and pleasant natural environment) were all found that they significantly influence the willingness to participate in the urban regeneration project. Furthermore, it was discovered that social networks had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between housing satisfaction and willingness to participate in urban regeneration projects. Therefore, these findings underscore the importance of residential satisfaction and social networks in urban regeneration projects, advocating for the development of programs to enhance resident participation and policies to improve the residential environment.
