The rapid advancement of technology has made Media Information Literacy (MIL) a crucial competency for young people. While they are adept at accessing and utilizing information, there are limitations in developing critical thinking and ethical attitudes, which are core aspects of MIL. Recent concerns include media risks, misinformation, and the need for cultivating digital talents. Youth culture centers, which focus on information, culture, and the arts, are expected to play a role in promoting MIL. This paper performs a case study to analyze the spaces of youth centers for their MIL impact. Spaces are categorized into group activity, group learning, individual activity, and individual learning spaces and assessed in terms of four key aspects: information accessibility, voluntary activeness, sustainable growth potential, and creativity. The analysis yielded several findings: Spaces for sustainable growth potential were adequate while those for creativity and voluntary activeness were lacking. Poor information accessibility was observed in some cases, highlighting the need for direct exposure to media and information sources. In conclusion, although group activity spaces and areas supporting sustainable growth are well-implemented, there is a shortage of individual learning and creative spaces. Future research should focus on incorporating MIL characteristics into the design and planning of youth cultural centers to better support the development of key competencies for the next generation.
