Due to the increase in non-face-to-face activities and the rapid spread of the digital media environment in the context of COVID-19, the demand and interest in ‘Media literacy’ is increasing. In particular, media literacy for young people, also called digital natives, demands a stronger role from education sites and other media education spaces. In this flow, the library has traditionally played a role as a space closely related to literacy. Starting with "books", containing existing text contents, the current library space embraces various media, and collecting, preserving, and providing knowledge information. And it has continuously developed into a place where local community members can share information and practice lifelong learning. In recent rapid changes in the digital environment, it is required to play an active role. Although the existing library has been recognized as a space for learning for a long time, it is not easy to change in providing a new space to users, and the research on youth space in public libraries is insufficient. Therefore, in this study, the elements for reinforcing media literacy in public libraries in the age of multi-media and information overload are derived through prior research, and the spatial characteristics are explored by finding the connection point with the youth community space. Through this, we will look into how public libraries can serve as a space for future local information and culture centers.
