The purposes of this study are, what is the main motivation of twitter users who wish to communicate with politicians via Twitter and according to user''s ideology, how these motives affect intention(''tweet exchange intention'') that user want to exchange tweets with politicians. Motivation items were extracted from literature review and focus group interviews. Through exploratory factor analysis, four motivation factors consisting of 19 items were derived: political information acquisition, interaction, psychological stability, politician''s routine check. As a result of stepwise regression analysis, While it appeared that political information acquisition, interaction and psychological stability motivation factors affect ''tweet exchange intention'' significantly in the respondents who have liberal political orientation, only political information acquisition factor has an effect on ''tweet exchange intention'' significantly in the respondents who have conservative political orientation. And the results of this study showed that there was significant difference between a high twitter user group and a low twitter user group in terms of ''tweet exchange intention''.
