The Effects of the Group Program applied by Enneagram on Special Education Teacher''s Job Stress and Teach Efficacy

The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the effects of a group program using the Enneagram on special education teacher''s perceived job stress and teacher efficacy. For this purpose, the researcher sampled 18 teachers working for ''C'' school for handicapped children and divided them equally into test and control groups.
The tested group underwent a series of pre-program, getting the program, and post-program while the non-tested group didn’t get the program.
The program was consist of lectures and activities and progressed by the thesis writer in person. The tested group was programmed for 15 hours, 2hours 30minutes for each, 6 times, from October 4th, 2012 to November 6th 2012.
In this study, the means of measuring job stress is scale which Kim Hyo-soon(2006) and Seo Seong-deok(2008) revised "Stress Profile for Teacher(SPT)" of Wilson(1979). And for measuring teach efficacy, the measure which Seo Seong-deok(2008) amended teach efficacy scale of Kim A-young, Kim Min-jin(2004) is used.
The collected data was processed statistically using SPSS 20.0 program. To verify the hypothesis, the tested group and the non-tested group were equally tested with pre-program examination to make sure that they are homogeneous.
Meaningful results were verified through comparing and analyzing the outcome of pre-program test and post-program test between the tested group and the non-tested group, and the analysis within the group.
The results of this study are as follows.
First, the test group, which did the group program, teacher''s perceived job stress was decreased significantly than non-tested group.
Second, the test group, which did the group program, teach efficacy was improved significantly than non-tested group.
The above results show that the group program using the Enneagram is effective significantly to decrease job stress and improve teach efficacy.
