Even though knowledge sharing is known as an essential factor to strengthen the organizational competitiveness, there has been little research about variables that have positive influences on knowledge sharing in public institutions, especially, military troops. Only leadership has been received attention as an influential factor on knowledge sharing. Therefore, this study analyzes the effects of transformational leadership on knowledge sharing based on the preceding research. The members of the ROK Special Warfare Forces were selected as the research subjects to empirically examine the mediating effects of trust and group cohesiveness between transformational leadership and knowledge sharing. The results show that transformational leadership has a positive impact on trust, group cohesiveness and knowledge sharing. Trust also has a positive impact on knowledge sharing, and group cohesiveness positively influenced knowledge sharing. And trust and group cohesiveness have partial mediating effects between transformational leadership and knowledge sharing. Finally, we consider the implications of the study.
