The criticism of 'New-tendency' group is very important in the history of Korean modem literature. Because it played a roll of bridge to go over from a coterie stage to the proletariat-literature era in the history of Korean modem literature. According to that, many scholars have devoted their papers to light on this stage. But most of them have failed to understand the true meaning of the criticism of 'New-tendency' group, because they neglected the feature of proletariat discourse.
Proletariat-cult discourse is a revolutionary discourse and at same time a cultural discourse. When it is a revolutionary discourse, it functions as a strategy of class-struggle. But, when it appeared as a cultural discourse, it would show itself a feature of the critical literary criticism The criticism of Kim Ki-jin showed the double fashion of Proletariat-cult discourse. For this features, the criticism of Kim Ki-jin played a unique roll in the history of early Korean modem criticism, and his criticism made a pioneering effect on Korean socialist movement and proletariat literature movement.
