This writing aims to find out and report ten literary works of of Jung's Independence period, and to increase understanding of his latter works. The ten works include eight juvenile literatures, a poem, and a handwritten commentary on his poetical work.
First, Jung's activity in juvenile literature and the works became reported for the first time, which are five reviews of the juvenile literature, two essays, and one colloquy. The reviews were written between 1947 and 1949. In two essays, he showed lots of interest in social-economical condition of children.
Second, 「Chair」, the poem, was composed of fourteen fragments, and they could be collapsed into four by the structure of this poem Youth, a part of lifetime, was shaped by clear and beautiful similes and antagonistic aspects, through which he wrote the poem about repentance from losing youth.
'Third, the handwritten commentary was used as an introduction of 『Face』, the intended poetical work of Jung, Jin-up. It was written during Jung's trip to Kyungnam and Busan area in May and June, 1950. He complimented the poems of Jung, Jin-up and showed that he sympathized propaganda activity of The Federation Protecting and Guiding the Public(국민보도연맹).
Therefore, ten literary works of Jung's were able to be added to the list of his works through this writing. And his works showed contradictive thought such as what should be (or what one should do) and reality, I and the others, and youth and old. That is, they were the other ways to express the taste of defeat which he underwent through the reality of Independence period.
